What We Do
"A beautiful and tranquil place of peace."
The Keyham Green Places Community Centre is situated in the heart of the Keyham community, surrounded by its own gardens and horticultural growing area. Although we support a wide range of events and activities, we also place a strong emphasis on promoting the natural environment.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop educational, recreational, and social activities that will enhance the quality of life and social cohesion within the Keyham neighbourhood and promote a sense of community among local people.
What Can KGP Offer You?
Within the centre, we have meeting rooms and a kitchen facility that are available for hire by both organisations and individual members of the community. The gardens surrounding the centre provide a place to relax and a safe play area for young children. Part of the grounds is laid out as small allotments, enabling the centre to provide opportunities for local people to learn horticultural skills. We run a variety of exercise classes and activities, including a social group for older people and activity sessions for children.
We hold a FOODBANK every Monday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to give food to those struggling with low income. We also hold a FREE community lunch with soup, crusty bread, and chat sessions at 12 p.m. every Monday.
We welcome young people, older people, families, and people struggling with physical and mental health to our community centre to attend a wide range of events and activities that support people to get help due:
personal life situations.
socialise with other community members
learn new skills
As a charity, we keep our centre open by grants, raising money and renting out space for various functions.
